…today I sent my daughter Iman to School as usual. Her teacher Mrs. Osterberg asked for interview session regarding to Iman’s progress.Iman was there only 3 months, but definitely I was thankful to Allah because she could manage her daily life in new school, in fact, there are many new friends in the classroom and even in the school. Almost 50% of the students are refugees from African Nations such as Sudan,Burundi,Somalia, and a few from North Korea, Afghanistan,Japan and Thailand. Those peoples from Japan and North Korea have been here since the Second World War . Whilst, the others are refugees from their home country’s conflict and war such as Afghanistan and Somalia, as well as Australian Government became as a third party to welcome and give them support to have new life in the new land.
…..Sometimes we found that a young children lost their relatives during the war, they lost everything evens parents…imagine that they have to survive. Some of them been as adopted child with English family and have a new parent.
….Back to Iman’s interview, Mrs. Ostoberg told me that Iman can catch-up the new language, She has a good score in vocabulary and dictions. She also able to read the book which is more than teacher’s expectation to the new student. At 3.00 pm, I went to fetch my children and Iman has told that she got a medal from Swimming Carnival held at Yeronga Pool in the morning. Yes, she won a third and fourth place for two types of swimming skill, she beat it…, the Swimming Carnival also participate by all childrens from Year 1 to Year 4.

..Besides, Syauqi..also can adapt new school environment. He has lots of friends from various nations including Australian Aborigines. He has a friend namely Donald, Dominic, Mustaza and others. I believe that, English as Second Language (ESL) class that is compulsory for the International student will assist him with advantage of English usage in Mathematics and Science subject, in our home country.
